taking in the views, part one
This first installment is my collection of the gorgeous/overwhelming/awesome scenery I managed to capture while in Japan. I quite regret that I didn't snap more images on the streets of Kyoto and Tokyo, but at least I got a few good ones.

One afternoon we took the ferry from Hiroshima to the island of Itsukushima, commonly known as Miyajima, or 'shrine island.' Miyajima is famous for the enormous torii, native Sika deer, the Itsukushima Shinto shrine, and maple trees.

aaaaaaand we're back!
Thanks so much to all of you who placed orders while I was away and having my 20% off sale! I have an exciting handful of Japanese treasures to add to the shop soon. Needless to say, Japan is rad.
After Thanksgiving in San Diego and two weeks in Japan then another few days in San Diego then getting horribly gut-wrenchingly sick as soon as we got home, I'm finally feeling back in the swing of things and happy to be in our little apartment again with our kitty.
So, rather than just word-vomit about my adventures, I'm going to share a few nuggets and photos over the course of the next week. Ready? I sure am.
